Kaj, I am not sure I understand your question. Have you seen my extensive article about all angelfishes (even more than in DISCUSBOOK01 - maybe I should update that in DISCUSBOOK04), and actually made clear what belongs to the described (and later placed in synonomy - but to me a good species - P. eimekei. What I have given the name P. cf. eimekei, are all the red- shoulder angelfishes from Tapajos-Manacaburu-Cuiuini (the latter is by aquarists called St. Isabel), as all are realtively small - smaller than all the other species except P. leopoldi. The P.-eimekei-group fishes are only found in the Lower Rio Negro basin and in the lower Amazon basin affluents and lakes, not anywhwere else. The P. scalare which is also found in the Rio Negro, but also further up, and which is often confused with P. altum (and bred by many and sold as P. altum - but it is not P. altum), is the second largest angelfish after P. altum, but very different from the so called St. Isabel and company. Only the latter have a very destinct fin pattern, not found in anyone of the other angelfishes, To me there are 6 un-described species of Pterophyllum and 4 described ones.
