Naturlig biotop

Lever över sandiga bottnar med mindre till större stenblock som bygger upp bottenytan. Arten går att finna i floder på upp till 400 meter över havsnivån vilka strömmar medelkraft till kraftigt.

Föda

De livnär sig på aufwuchs, ryggradslösa djur samt olika former av vattenlevande insekter. I akvarium tar de levande foder, pellets eller fryst mat.
