Protomelas Viragtus Gome vs Stevini Imperial Gome?!

Hi I am having a mental blank and i tried looking on google no joy i use to remember seeing a protomelas (blue colour with yellow belly or throat) looked like a red empress but blue and yellow not Protomelas spilonotus Tanzania Dont see them around anymore probably because they are just a silver ...

      Protomelas sp. "steveni imperial"
Diagnosis: It is difficult to give a diagnosis that will work for all populations of Protomelas sp. 'steveni imperial'. Males of P. sp. 'steveni imperial' always have a yellow breast and belly, and often the yellow pigment is extended on the shoulder and even further on the flank. When it is found sympatric with P. taeniolatus, males of P. taeniolatus always have a blue body and lack any yellow pigment on breast and belly, but in areas where Protomelas sp. 'steveni imperial' does not occur P. taeniolatus males often have a yellow breast and belly, but never yellow on shoulder or flank. Females of both these species look very similar except when they are found sympatrically, but there is no pattern that is unique to either one of these species. P. sp. 'steveni imperial' also resembles P. fenestratus but males of latter species have black ventral fins while those of P. sp. 'steveni imperial' are yellow to red. Female P. fenestratus always have conspicuous bars, much broader than found on the flanks of either P. sp. 'steveni imperial' or P. taeniolatus. The basic pigmentation pattern of P. sp. 'steveni imperial' is characterized by vertical and horizontal elements. The vertical elements are not as pronounced as those seen in P. fenestratus. The most often seen feature of the pattern is the fact that the mid-lateral stripe is not continuous but consists of several irregular blotches which form a kind of dashed line. Such a pattern is also seen in P. sp. 'steveni taiwan' but latter species has very distinct vertical bars. Females of the "Steveni" form found at Pombo Rocks also has such a pattern and may thus belong to P. sp. 'steveni imperial'. It is clear that this group needs more research before an acceptable classification can be made

        Protomelas virgatus
Diagnosis: Protomelas virgatus is distinguished from the other members of Protomelas by a peculiar shape of the jaws which are narrow anteriorly but wider at the posterior ends. It has rather large anterior teeth and some of the pharyngeal teeth are enlarged (Eccles & Trewavas, 1989). In that respect it resembles the situation found in some members of Labidochromis. Protomelas virgatus can also be distinguished by its melanin pattern which consists of three longitudinal series of spots of irregular sizes, shapes and intensities. In most other Protomelas either the mid-lateral or the dorso-lateral stripe is continuous.
